AET Level 3 (Award in Education and Training)

Duration :3 months

Prerequisite
• Learners must be at least 19 years of age.
• No formal teaching qualification is required prior to enrolment.
• A minimum of Level 2 literacy (or equivalent) is recommended, as the course involves written assignments.
• Access to a training/teaching environment (real or simulated) is required to complete the micro-teach practical assessment.

Learning Outcomes
By the end of this course, learners will be able to:
• Understand the roles, responsibilities, and relationships in education and training.
• Understand and apply the principles and practices of assessment.
• Understand and use inclusive teaching and learning approaches in education and training.
• Demonstrate the use of resources for inclusive teaching and learning.
• Deliver a micro-teach session and evaluate their own practice.
• Understand the legal and professional requirements of the teaching role, including safeguarding and equality/diversity.

• Roles and responsibilities of a teacher/trainer in the education and training sector
• Legislation, regulatory requirements, and codes of practice
• Inclusive teaching and learning approaches, including differentiation
• Learning styles and how to adapt delivery to meet learner needs
• Types of assessment methods (initial, formative, summative)
• Giving constructive feedback to learners
• Use of teaching and learning resources, including technology
• Planning and delivering a micro-teach session (assessed practical)
• Self-evaluation and reflective practice
• Written assignments covering theory units
